Where To Eat In Valencia Spain - Best Restaurants For Each Cuisine

Where to eat in Valencia, Spain? That is a very tough question because there are so many restaurants in the city that if we spend the next 10 years eating at a new one, there would STILL be more to try!

With that being said, we have spent the last year in the city trying different cuisines from around the world. If you have watched any of our Youtube videos you will soon find out we base our lives around food! My husband and I both come from smaller towns where the food options are limited.

Yes, you have your basic fast food options, chain restaurants, and the occasional ethnic restaurant. Moving to Spain’s third largest city with endless possibilities to eat something new everyday has been an AMAZING experience for us.

What Food Is Valencia Famous For?

The dish that Valencia is MOST famous for is Paella. You will find paella restaurants all throughout the Valencia region.

Valencia is one of the most important cities in Spain, and it is renowned for its vibrant culture, abundant history, and unique cuisine.

The city’s gastronomic tradition is deeply rooted in the Mediterranean diet, with a strong emphasis on fresh fish and seafood.

Valencia is particularly famous for its signature dish, paella, a rice-based dish typically cooked with rabbit or chicken, and flavored with saffron and other spices. This tasty meal has become an icon of Spanish cuisine, and it is often served with a refreshing glass of sangria or wine.

Apart from paella, Valencia is also famous for its variety of ‘horchata,’ a traditional drink made from tiger nuts, sugar, and water.

Another famous delicacy of this region is the fartons, a sweet pastry typically eaten with horchata.

Valencia is also known for it’s Agua de Valencia. Make sure you order one of these while you are eating at one of the many restaurants in Valencia.

This amazing cocktail is made from freshly squeezed orange juice, gin, vodka, and a base of cava or champagne. It is one of my favorite cocktails here!

Overall, Valencia’s food is a delicious reflection of its rich history and geography, and it is a must-try for anyone visiting Spain.
